Want to Write for the WomenArts Blog?

The Woman Poet (Pompeii, 70 AD)

As part of our celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Support Women Artists Now Day/SWAN Day this year, we want to feature new voices in the WomenArts Blog.

We are looking for reporters who can help us cover more of the inspiring work that women artists are doing, the latest research on gender parity in the arts, and the actions women are taking to end gender discrimination in the arts.

We are especially interested in writers who can provide diverse perspectives in terms of race, class, religion, age, sexual/gender preference, disability or other characteristics.  We will pay for every article we publish that has not been published elsewhere.

If you have an idea for an article you would like to write for us, please review our Blog Submission Guidelines. If your idea fits our guidelines, please submit a short description of your topic using our Blog Inquiry Form.

PLEASE NOTE:  We are currently looking for articles of 500 – 1,000 words, and we will only consider articles that fit into one of the following three categories:

  • Inspiring Women – Articles about extraordinary/inspiring women artists, women artists overcoming obstacles, or festivals of women artists.
  • Gender Parity Research & Actions – Articles summarizing research studies, legal actions, demonstrations or other activities related to the struggle for gender parity in any art form.
  • Helpful Resources – Articles with tips for women artists on publicity, fundraising, crowd-sourcing, job-hunting or other business aspects of their work; articles about helpful directories, websites or other resources.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us.  We look forward to hearing from you!
