WASHINGTON, DC – Women Artists from DC and beyond will offer FREE staged readings and poetry performances at SWAN Day DC presented by Guillotine Theatre at the National Museum of Women in the Arts on Saturday, March 26 from 12 – 2 p.m. The event will include works by playwrights Lisa Alapick, McKenya Dilworth, Ty Hallmark and Laura Rocklyn, as well as story-teller Ellouise Schoettler and poet Shelly Bell. BERKELEY, CA –  The Wooden Fish Ensemble will present 3 concerts of Hyo-shin Na’s music for Asian zithers, the Japanese Koto and Korean Kayageum, in Berkeley on March 30 and April 5 and in San Francisco on April 4.

Hyo-shin Na has written music for traditional Korean instruments as well as western instruments. Her innovative compositions often combine eastern and western instruments and ways of playing so that the differing sounds and ideas interact, coexist, and conflict in the music. Read more>>
