Get Ready for SWAN Day 2019!

We hope you are enjoying the holiday season, and we wanted to remind you that Support Women Artists Now Day/SWAN Day is only a few months away.  We hope you will make a New Year’s resolution to join us in making SWAN Day 2019 the biggest and best celebration of women artists yet!

New Leadership – Changes for SWAN Day 2019!

Martha Richards & Melinda Pfundstein

Martha Richards passes the leadership of SWAN Day to Melinda Pfundstein, StateraArts

As WomenArts has announced previously, we have selected StateraArts to lead SWAN Day 2019. WomenArts and StateraArts are working together to make this transition as smooth as possible, and we wanted to explain some of the changes.

Since StateraArts has taken over the technical aspects of SWAN Day, the official SWAN Day Calendar has been moved to their website. It is easy to add your event to the SWAN Day Calendar – just fill in the new streamlined event form.

Also, StateraArts will be working with you to answer any questions you may have about SWAN Day or your SWAN event.  You can contact them at SWANDay@StateraArts.org.

WomenArts will be helping out with publicity and fundraising, and Martha Richards will continue to write for the WomenArts Blog, but you should be sure to sign up for the StateraArts Newsletter or follow them on Facebook to make sure you get all of the SWAN news this year.

About SWAN Day 2019

The official date for SWAN Day 2019 is Saturday, March 30, 2019, but please feel free to celebrate any time during during March or April. The spirit of SWAN events is more important than the exact dates.

There are lots of ways, large and small, that you can participate in SWAN Day. You can organize public SWAN events, host private SWAN gatherings in your home, or simply be an appreciative audience member at a SWAN event. SWAN Day is a grassroots celebration, and we encourage you to be creative!

Another great way to help is to make a gift to WomenArts to help us cover the costs of SWAN Day 2019.

Add Your Event to the SWAN Calendar!

The Wolves at PCPAAre you hosting or organizing a 2019 SWAN Day event? Make sure you submit it to the Statera SWAN Day Calendar.

Please Note: All events during March and April that are created by women artists are welcome on the SWAN Calendar. Your event does not need to be specifically created for SWAN Day.

For instance, PCPA Pacific Conservatory Theatre in Central California is celebrating SWAN Day for the first time ever by posting  their upcoming production of The Wolves by Sarah Delappe on the SWAN Calendar. Learn more HERE.
