“Geekfest” is a comic book-themed group art exhibit held in conjunction with an event called “Geekfest 2018” on March 3 2018 to be hosted at Jupiter Studios.  Geekfest will feature a comic book contest, children’s craft therapy table, Cosplay Contest, Vendors, Speakers and the Belly Dancer Sera Sahara! Art on show from Alliance Middle School Teacher Bianca Burwell and her Students as well as professional artists and local children! Free to all children and $5 for adults.

Chrystal and Jupiter Studios would like to thank Arts in Stark and Competitive Edge Dance and Fitness for sponsoring Geekfest.

Both student and professional artists will have comic book-themed original and fan art. Jupiter Studios will have Alliance Public School councilor team Katina Parks and Amanda Scott speak on Bullying at 6pm. There will be an art therapy table set up for children to learn how to make their own comic books and super hero masks. There will be a lot of fun activities planned during “Geekfest” geared toward young adults including an Cosplay contest and an Amateur comic book contest.

The art exhibit will run thru March 14th 2017 and will have a soft opening on February 16th, the main event “Geekfest” will be March 3rd.  North Carolina Bellydancer and Cosplay costume artist is booked to perform and judge the Cosplay contest at “Geekfest” Sera Sahara (Sarah Joy), she will go on at 700pm.

Competitive Edge will have their young dancers perform at 630. There will be vendors set up and Jupiter will have food available for purchase. One of the Vendors already signed onto the project will be Kristina Yarwood of the upcoming Alliance business “Enchanted Threads” due to open soon in Downtown Alliance. Make sure to come dressed in costume for a chance to win cash prizes!
