Personal Statement: I am a painter whose approach is not an intellectual one, but rather an expressive one, and in accordance with my natural impulses.

Women and the forces of nature that surround them are my main inspiration. I want to illustrate women who are simple, strong and full of powers. Powers of creation, of fertility of spirit and body, and magical powers… Aren’t we all, from near or from far, witches ?!

The themes I tackle in my paintings speak of women in perpetual creation: women rooted but moving on foreign, fertile and red earth; women governed and caressed by full or crescent moons, who drinkwater from life bearing rivers; women who feed and heal themselves with the plants born from their seeds.

Current Work
Exhibitions of my work include:

Participation in a competition at the Chateaux de Sable in Cabarete ... I won 3rd prize!

Exhibition at Les Belles Soeurs, Montréal. (This has become my preferred exhibition room in Montréal!)

Solo exhibition at the Café Rico, Montréal. (Since this exhibition, the review magazine "Coup de Pouce" published an interview with Laure Waridel and the accompanying photos were taken at the Café Rico ... you can see my paintings in the background!!! Good, eh?! It's better than nothing!!!)

Exhibition at the Art and Soul Gallery, Pickering Village, Ontario.

Creation and exhibition of works entitled "For the Garden of your Dreams", Vianney, Québec.

Artistic collaboration with Danièle Vallée, author. Realisation of works to illustrate stories for adults.

Exhibition at l'Atelier Gilford, Montréal.

"L'Affaire est dans le sac", (It's in the bag) - exhibition at la Galerie Montcalm, Hull, Québec.

Solo exhibition at La Faim du Monde, Montréal.

Creation of a logo and the exterior and interior decoration of La Faim du Monde restaurant, Montréal. (The restaurant is now closed, but the art work remains!)

Illustration of an invitation for a film by Daniel St-Laurent et Brigitte Pelletier 'Des portraits sur Fond d'étoiles' presented at St-Fortunat, Québec.

Realisation of a work for the Festival Internationale de Musique Incroyable (International Festival for Incredible Music), commissioned by the owner of l'Auberge de St-Fortunat, Dominique Martineau.

Short Bio
I am a self taught artist, and I draw my inspirations from the heart of my travels and also from the heart of the forest where I live.

I have been painting for five years, restlessly and enthusiastically. I have used my trip to Mexico and other parts of Latin America as research for ideas. In particular my trip to the Dominican Republic has provided a lot of artistic material ... the sea and the mountains inspired me and the people made me smile.

The women and the colors I have seen in my travels to Latin America have taught me a lot about life and the importance of creation, simply by being who they are - courageous and supportive towards one another and at the same time free and naïve in their movements and their being. They continue to live at the tip of my brushes and are born of the spontaneous, infinite and almost childish admiration I devote to them.
