Current Work The Last Women is an ensemble piece of theatre available for touring for information go to www.lastwomen.co.uk |
Short Bio Triangle was established by performer-writer-director Carran Waterfield in 1988. Under her artistic direction the company has been making cutting-edge performance work for almost fifteen years. Its award-winning productions are firmly based on personal stories some of which are rooted in the city of Coventry. The universal resonance of these stories has ensured that this work is being presented across the world. In particular Triangle's influence has reached such diverse places as Africa, Japan, Poland, Denmark, Russia and America.
While Triangle is renowned for honest and brave solo productions, the company has developed a body of ensemble pieces from two handers to full ensemble works. In particular the Nina and Frederick project has been developing since 1997.
Acclaimed for its mastery of the emotional power of theatre, Triangle does not aim to raise issues and find solutions, but is fascinated by the tension and energy that exists within human relationships. By creating characters who are outsiders, Triangle creates risky encounters and explores the potential horror and joy of human actions.
The company is well-respected for its inspirational education work, having been company in residence at The University of Warwick between 1995 and 2001.
Since November 2001 Triangle has been company in residence at Coventry's Herbert Art Gallery and Museum where it has been engaged in performance and interactive projects for a period of three years.
