Current Work I am documenting Brooklyn landmarks through photos, especially those that are in the process of changing like the Atlantic Avenue Long Island Railroad Station. |
Short Bio I have written poetry from the time I was small so when I graduated from a Brooklyn, New York High School I decided to major in Creative Writing in college. While in college I got married and we wound up living outside the U.S. for a number of years.
While outside the country I worked in a mosaic factory and continued to write poetry. After we had a child we came back to the US, I finished my B.A. and we then had another child.
In the early 1980's I went to work for the City of New York producing brochures and web information. It became clear to me that I needed to learn a graphics program for my job and I taught myself Photoshop. I became proficient in the program and was given the job of graphic designer.
At the same time, I began sending my poems out for publication. A number of my poems were published in small American, Canadian and English poetry magazines. I was given a digital camera at work and fell in love with digital photography as an expression of art. That lead me into painting and mixed media.
