Current Work Sister Spit Northampton Volume 5: Letta Neely's in the House!
Our next event will take place on Sunday, February 22nd at Harry's Nightspot in Northampton, MA. It will be smoke-free, $5 and 21+. There will be an open mic where both poets and musicians are welcome to perform--or comics, performance artists, whatevah. Sets are 5-7 minutes long. Sign-up will be on site.
Spoken word artist and playwright Letta Neely will headline the event, and Jen Edwards our Sister Spit Northampton Slam Champion, will open for her.
The best thing you can do to keep Sister Spit alive is to come out to the shows--and bring a friend. Word of mouth is our most powerful tool. If you can't make it to an event, we hope you'll convince a friend to come and take your place in the crowd.

History SSN premiered in June of 2003 with performances by Evelyn Harris, Michelle Tea, Arjuna Greist, Naomi Graychase and Sara Seinberg. Since then, nearly a dozen artists including Susan Stinson, Anne Heaton, Jerree Small, Tanya Rubins, Ember Swift and Mary Anne Farley have graced the stage at "SSN Volume 2: Full Throttle" and "SSN Volume 3: The Charmed, I'm Sure Tour."
In 2004, SSN events will be held monthly. To view the calendar, visit www.sisterspitnorthampton.com or www.graychase.com.
Sister Spit Northampton was inspired by the original Sister Spit, which was invented in the mid 1990s in San Francisco by Michelle Tea and Sini Anderson. SSN is born with their blessing. You can find out more about what Sini and the original Sister Spit are up to at www.sisterspit.com.
