Current Work I am just finishing a production with my theatre company The Maggie Tree. It is a two-hander script that was written for us about two women who meet 40 years after they have committed a terrible crime. By law they were never to see each other again but something has brought them together. As the lines between reality and fantasy blur, things get less predictable and more dangerous. Based on a true story.
The project I performed in shortly before this that will be touring over the next year is a production by Edmonton's Catalyst Theatre, Nevermore. It is about the imaginary life and mysterious death of Edgar Allan Poe. It is a highly imaginative piece bringing together story, image, movement and music. |
Short Bio I have been performing since I was a child. First in Ballet, then in commercials, then at the St. Albert Children's Theatre mostly in musicals. I graduated from the Grant MacEwan College Theatre Arts program in 1999 and then studied at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts for two years. I returned to Edmonton and began acting professionally with a number of theatres in a number of genres. Then I decided I wanted to do something that would help put a little more control of my career into my own hands. So I did an Internship at the Centre for Performance Research in Aberystwyth, Wales. Since returning from that I have started my own company, the Maggie Tree, which has produced three shows, winning an award for our second production. This company is based in Edmonton, where I grew up. Edmonton has a wonderful professional Independent theatre community which means that individual artists can work together on many exciting projects. I enjoy and have been a part of many types of theatre; Classical, Contemporary, Musical, New work, Stylized work, Big Budget, and Tiny Budget.
