Short Bio Linalynn Schmelzer graduated from the Greater Hartford Academy for Performing Arts in 1999; she attended Columbia College in Chicago, IL and received a B.F.A in dance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a MS. in creative arts therapy. She is a registered dance/movement therapist with the American dance/therapy association. She has received grants, for dance project, “Orchestrated Impulse”, from Connecticut Commission on the Arts and from the Alumni Association at the University of Massachusetts. Linalynn is a seasoned performer who has dance for University Dancers of Amherst Massachusetts, Sorvino Dance Project, Katrina O’ Brien & Company, Clark Dance Theater, among other choreographers in Connecticut, Chicago and Massachusetts. Linalynn taught modern dance at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Stoneleigh-Burnham School, and Eastern Connecticut Ballet to name a few. Currently, she teaches a variety of movement styles at various locations in Connecticut. Linalynn is excited to be presenting at the New England Dance/Movement Therapy Conference in April, 2010.
