Personal Statement: Printmaking and Film: These are the tools which never before have succeeded so well in breaking down barriers between nations, cultures, and our ideas of self. Using linocut prints I document the solitude, beauty and analgesic tragedy of the southern, urban landscape.

Short Bio
Olivia Saldivar spent her youth surrounded by gang activity in an area of Fort Worth, Texas called "No Man's Land." Working her way through film school as a secretary, she has written and directed six short films that reflect the stories she's witnessed or experienced in her sordid past. Olivia's films have won several awards and have been screened at numerous film festivals including SXSW Film Festival in Austin and the Toronto International Film Festival. Olivia wants to continue to make films that dramatize everyday life.
