Personal Statement: We all have connection to certain objects that we are not entirely aware of because of our memories use of them to reference experiences. Though we all have different 'tabs' there are also universal ones some of which are very obvious, and others which are less so. The elements actually become invisible because of our familiarity with them and when represented alone or in an unusual context, can become visible again.

Current Work
I am working on a series using shoes to explore family relationships. They deal with things like memory, conformity and loss. The shoes continue to work as themes change, and with each new theme I am surprised at how the shoes change.
Short Bio
Bobbie Jansen was featured in the 25th edition of “New American Paintings” published in 2000. She is part of the major exhibition; True Colors: Meditation on the American Spirit, in response to 9/11 and traveling to Washington D.C., New York, Atlanta, Istanbul,Cairo, Casablanca, Berlin and other locations. Her Work has been exhibited in Galleries and Museums in Oregon, Washington, Montanan, Idaho, New Mexico, Texas, New York, and select locations around the world. She is currently represented by the Hanson Howard Gallery, in Ashland, and the Augen Gallery in Portland Oregon. For several years Jansen has been using objects as the basis for her work.
