Mission Statement: I am committed to preserving and teaching authentic classic Egyptian style belly dance.

In this modern age in which cultures have become influenced by other cultures, I feel it is important to preserve the Egyptian dance culture that was enjoyed during the Golden Age of Egyptian Film and performed by the dancers of Egypt up to and including renowned dancer Fifi Abdo.

With a grounded foundation from this Egyptian era, students can go on and enjoy or teach a more modern style of belly dance.

Current Work
1. My current project is the documentation of movement as performed by Egyptian dance artists of the past. I have labeled this as the Egyptian Dance Code® or EDC®. I am in the midst of producing videos with supporting dance clips in documenting this cultural dance.

2. I am also producing DVDs of past Egyptian dancers as well as documenting the evolution of costumes from the 1920s to the present.

3. As an ongoing project, my graduates continue their study of the dance with the ability and access to my restaurant and it availability to showcase their talent.
History
The Sausan Academy of Egyptian Dance officially opened in 2000 for private teaching. In 2003, the studio opened to the public. All graduates have performed at Al-Masri Egyptian restaurant for their debut and many have gone on to open other studios. The academy continues to produce high quality dancers.
