Personal Statement: I am a photographer heavily influenced by two diametrical styles: 1930s and '40s documentary FSA, which strove to capture people and places realistically in their environments, and cinema mise-en-scene, where every attention to detail is perfected. Both styles strive to tell a story within a single frame. I am also a film editor and colorist.

Current Work
I'm currently photographing Burlesque. Burlesque is a celebration of the beauty of the human experience. It is glamorous, witty, sexual, kinetic, coy, communicative, and heartbreaking. Burlesque is classically defined as a type of theatrical entertainment characterized by mocking and ludicrous humor and slapstick presentation and often incorporating striptease. In Los Angeles a Neo-Burlesque movement is evolving and popularizing this once low-brow form of entertainment by going back to its roots, where the performance is concentrated on the “tease” rather than the “strip.” New acts with cultural and political satire have a focused attention on choreography and costumes and set apart modern dancers as true performance artists.
Short Bio
I have produced work in all forms of visual media, including photography, film, theater, web design, and graphic design. I currently work as a film editor and color grader at a post-production boutique in Los Angeles. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Media Arts and Design from James Madison University and a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Electronic Media from American University.
