Current Work As an ongoing project, much of my photography is done close to home to illustrate that beauty in nature exists not only in exotic destinations but also in our backyards, city gardens, and local parks. As a kick-off to this project I replaced the lawn in our small 1000 square-foot yard with an eco-friendly native and drought tolerant woodland garden.
I am passionate about environmental issues and helping adults and children reconnect with nature. Through art I strive to enlighten and impassion viewers about environmental causes and the protection of wildlife and wilderness.
I am happy to review proposals for pro bono work from non-profit organizations with an emphasis on the arts, women’s safety issues, educating children on nature, environmental and wildlife issues. |
Short Bio Born and raised in the Washington, DC area, I earned my B.A. in Photography with a minor in Art History.
Upon completing my Bachelor's degree, I worked in museum collections management for a major museum. I was inspired by the collections I worked with and became passionate about the conservation and preservation of art.
In September 2006, after a ten-year career in publishing, I joined my husband Fred in marketing and development of his commercial photography business. I realized a long-time dream when, in 2007, we launched Schilling Images, a fine art and stock photography online gallery. To view our online portfolio please visit www.SchillingImages.com
My photography is vibrant and lively, featuring subjects in nature captured in macro-photography and printed large-scale. Dedicated to environmental conservation, I continuously try to reveal the hidden beauty of the world around us.
