Personal Statement: Lynn Job (pronounced with a long "o") is an American woman composer, author, publisher, scholar, and thespian born on the great plains of South Dakota. She keeps an active commissions roster. Lynn produces works in a wide range of new classical and soundscape genres, both acoustic and electronic, traditional concert and modern media, for stage and broadcast. She publishes through her own company, Buckthorn Music Press, elected member of the Music Publishers Association U.S.

Current Work
  • Largest Musical work - "ELATIO: Praises & Prophecies" (an allegorical work in 28 fragments) (orch., mixed choirs, soloists) with most texts from the Dead Sea Scrolls. A 167-page treatise and 16 of 28 scored sections (1 hour, 40 min., 418 pp.) were finished as her Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition (UNT, 1998) Dissertation.   • Largest Manuscript-in-work (started at Salmon Publishing, Co. Clare, Ireland) - A monograph of devotional poetry inspired by Hosea, Jeremiah, and the Song of Songs. Other projects include screenplays, essays, and reviews. www.buckthornstudios.com/books.html
  • Short Bio
    Buckthorn Studios (SM), directed by Lynn Job (since 1999), is comprised of 3 divisions: Buckthorn Music Press (ASCAP World Publisher), Buckthorn Books, and Buckthorn Records. The main focus is to represent the products and services provided by the active founding artist.

    Direct sales are possible or link to popular music stores and download sites. However, emphasis is on access to and learning about the possibilities of performing her catalog (100 titles) or commissioning her active collaboration in your new music or literary project. Education and philanthropy are valued.
