Current Work The current project of NEXUSartline is "Art for Children," which is aiming to spot talented young children in the early stages and create a supportive link with the state or with sponsors for their ongoing education. Priority is given to the children of lower-income families and orphans. "Art for Children" supports art education by providing resources; presenting an opportunity to the physically and mentally disabled children to socialize and take a role in the community; and developing awareness and consciousness towards the disabled children within the non-disabled ones in the early ages. "Art for Children" is aiming to integrate both the non-disabled and disabled children into the community, play a role in their socialization, and help them discover their own life forces and goals. Our children will experience the feelings of overcoming, satisfaction, and creation which will lead them to be self-confident adults who are always in touch with their own selves. They will learn to coordinate their talents and emotions to become whole. They will accept and love themselves and each other. |
History Ms. Meltem Ahiska has worked in tourism, textile, consultancy, and finance sectors both in Turkey and abroad. She started the artline project in 2004 and set up her own company, NEXUS, for training, consultancy, and organization in 2005 in Istanbul.
Meltem’s personal interest in art and her various trainings in different fields have been inspirational in creating NEXUSartline project. She started to bring together the artists under the umbrella of Artline project. The common projects were produced and activated in life.
