Current Work My current pastels are partially funded with a grant from the Pinellas County Arts Council. I have been painting mainly at Honeymoon Island and Fort DeSoto Park. These parks are unbelievably beautiful.
Florida is a wonderful place to paint. The color and light are amazing. The ocean and sky seem so immense. Clouds roll in and out quickly. The palm trees are striking; I love how the light filters through the palm fronds. The rhythm of the ocean waves is hypnotizing. When the waves roll in over the sand, a pearlescent color is created. I never know what to expect when I go out to paint in the morning and evening. Everything changes so fast. Afternoons are bold and vivid.
I am looking forward to continuing my work as an artist here in Florida. |
