Mission Statement: JaZzy MaE's modern books and movie projects have the power to intrigue and entertain a diverse audience, delivering positive messages in a fresh, humorous fashion. In this way JaZzy MaE speaks to audiences worldwide that are hungry for entertainment that inspires and touches them deeply while offering new experiences and points of view.

Over the last five years JaZzy MaE has become part of the Los Angeles independent film community. Lamson collaborates with producers and maintains links to talented artists (writers, directors, actors, musicians, composers) in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, San Diego, and Puerto Vallarta.

Current Work
LOMITA GHOSTS – A just-completed trailer for a short digital ghost movie about a young woman who inherits her funky grandmother’s house and gets more than she bargained for. The 12-minute movie itself is currently in post-production.

WITCH LITTLES – A children’s book, with plans for production of an audio book version.

SI SE PUEDE!? - A timely mini-documentary that covers the May 1st Gran Marcha Immigrant March in Los Angeles is almost complete. Sights and sounds of the occasion are combined with music and spoken word to form a sort of "documentary poem." There are no interviews - instead, we allow the signs participants carry to do the talking.
History
JaZzy MaE was formed in 1997 in San Francisco by Laurie Lamson to produce her short comedy FAMILY VALUES IN THE GODDESS YEARS, which went on to screen for enthusiastic audiences in San Francisco, San Diego, New York, Berlin, (and will soon be broadcast on Propeller TV in the UK.)

Lamson then wrote short scripts for promotional, Internet, and interactive projects for Bay Area clients. Since moving to Los Angeles, she has collaborated with other filmmakers on projects and recently filmed mini-dv interviews/b-roll for entertainment company Manifest Creative in San Diego.

In January 2006, JaZzy MaE was commissioned to produce three mini-docs by wwwturnhere.com - which are now available online:

OCEAN BEACH, DOG BEACH (both in San Diego, CA) and LOOKING FOR LIZZIE (Fall River, MA)

Lamson has also completed screenplays and promotional scripts with occasional website or PR work for various clients. She currently has two open projects with Showreel in Los Angeles - an educational video script and a corporate identity project - and is in negotiation to rewrite a screenplay for Prodigy Entertainment in San Francisco. Lamson is writing a new feature screenplay of her own, which she hopes to direct.
