Current Work I'm working on a couple of music videos this summer - LOVE IS THE ANSWER and ON BEAUTIFUL MAUI, two of my originals. Securing a crew is the hardest part of it all. The main thing is to have fun with it. I'm also coming out with my spoken word albums. I have 11 books of poetry (read and hear them on the Chameleon link). I'm just waiting to get ink now so I can make my inserts. |
Short Bio I was born and raised in New York City. When I was a young woman, the Civil Rights movement, Vietnam War, Cuban Revolution, and Women's Lib held the national attention. Unable to bear it all any longer, I escaped to Maui, Hawaii, in 1964. I raised my kids here and have found the Hawaiians to be true friends and the most generous neighbors.
I'm a Native American sympathizer and civil rights activist still, but I mainly write letters now - I'm no longer robust enough for demonstrations. My goals are to share my music, plays, and poetry with the world and to live long enough to see prisions closed down as penal institutions and become centers for learning and real education, opportunities, and hope. I pray for world peace, and I don't accept violence as a solution. I just want to live in peace and continue in my creative process. I'm into team work and creating exquisite works of film/theater and music. Being an orphan from an early age, I really get off on collaborating with other performing artists and musicians.
