Current Work Currently in pre-production for 2 short films I am writing and directing:"Waxing and Waning" about one woman's fear of getting older and getting a leg wax; and BOOKCLUB, about a woman's book club about to "audition" its first male member. |
Short Bio Based in Los Angeles, Casey has directed for GARRY MARSHALL’S FALCON THEATRE (the American premiere of "Darwin in Malibu" and “Barbra’s Wedding”, starring Daniel Stern and Crystal Bernard), and she has directed new play workshops for SOUTH COAST REPERTORY, PASADENA PLAYHOUSE and PACIFIC RESIDENT THEATER. Casey is currently pursuing directing for television and has shadowed Alan Ball on the final episode of SIX FEET UNDER, Peter Horton on GREY’S ANATOMY, Will MacKenzie on two episodes of REBA, and Gail Mancuso on SCRUBS. In 2003 Casey completed a twelve-year tenure as Artistic Director of EYE OF THE STORM THEATRE in Minneapolis, a company founded to commission and produce new plays and bring nationally prominent new work to Twin Cities’ audiences. Other recent work includes: “Pygmalion," “Blue/Orange,” and “Top Girls” for the GUTHRIE THEATER; “The Ladies Of The Camellias” for DENVER CENTER THEATRE COMPANY; “Dialogues Of The Carmelites” for FORT WORTH OPERA; “The Winter’s Tale" for ALABAMA SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL; “My Way” for ORDWAY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS; and “Rigoletto” and “Norma” for MINNESOTA OPERA. Nationally, Casey's work has been seen at WOOLLY MAMMOTH, HERE in New York, BAILIWICK ARTS CENTER in Chicago, and THE LAB in San Francisco.
