Personal Statement: I am dedicated to writing and producing films that promote political, sexual or sociological messages in the context of a narrative storyline. I strongly believe that narrative film benefits by being both entertaining and provocative. The entertainment value draws the audience to the theater, the provocative nature of the story creates discussion, and discussion can generate change. All three of my shorts have approached issues that way, with the most recent being the most significant. "Carrie's Choice" is a short, educational, narrative film about a college sophomore who relies on the "pull out method" and finds herself unexpectedly pregnant. The film has won awards and is now being distributed to clinics, women's study programs and college women's empowerment organizations.

Current Work
Renee Vivien, a celebrated lesbian poet of the late 1800's/early 1900's, had a long and passionate letter writing relationship with Kerime, a practicing muslim and wife of a Turkish Diplomat. The film represents the last brief meeting between the two women, before Kerime leaves for good. The moments together are a visual representation of a Renee Vivien poem called "The Touch." The story represents the love between two people in its spiritual and emotional context instead being based on gender. The intent is to equalize gay and lesbian sexuality and illustrate that there is no difference between straight attraction and homosexual attraction - that we are all the same under the skin.
Short Bio
Jane is a filmmaker with three short film under her belt. “Carrie’s Choice” earned a fiscal sponsorship from Women Make Movies, was awarded the Panasonic Filmmaker's Grand Prize, won best women’s issue film and is being distributed through Intermedia Inc.. Her previous film, "A Host of Daffodils,” won two awards, was nominated 4 times for best short, played 15 film festivals and is being distributed by Big Film Shorts. Her first short, "Dog Gone" was one of the "program director's pics" at the 2003 Woods Hole Film Festival.

Jane began as an actor including a recurring role on TV’s "Chicago Hope." She attended the 2002 Sundance Institute producer’s conference and gained producing experience by producing a string of successful showcases and a sold-out charity run of "Burn This" in Los Angeles.
