Personal Statement: I make art to keep me off of those bulletin boards in the post office: I am a poet, teacher, actress, motivator, dancer, filmmaker, artist, author, performer and mother of two. Red Summer, my alter ego, is the calm and the storm.

Current Work
"First Person" is a book of poetry that captures the pleasures and devastations of being caught in a whirlwind of exquisite pain and ravenous joy. My second project, Raw Sugar, addresses social issues and will be released this Summer. I will be on a promotional tour most of this year with that book. The tour will be filmed for a documentary titled "Chasing Summer."
Short Bio
I am one of those "jackie-of-all-trades." I have been involved in the Chicago artist community since third grade. With a BA in Theater and Communications Education and a MA in Interdisciplinary Art, I have been able to have a hand in developing projects that run the gammut of literature, theater, performance art, experimental music, visual art, filmmaking, tv/video production, motivational speaking, set design and spoken word poetry performances around the globe.
