Personal Statement: I write short, explosive one-acts, more sedate and psychologically exploratory full lengths and screen plays, quasi-autobiograaphical short fiction, and poetry centered around two major ideas: life in a backyard barnyard as a metaphor for human concerns and conflicts, and intergenerational care-giving as both burden and blessing -- all carefully structured, and shot through with symbolism, imagery, and humor.

Current Work
I'm just finishing a book of short fiction, called "The Rain That Lets Things Live," and will enter it in contests. A book of B&W photos, called "Correspondences," shows the human form as similar to and part of other natural forms on earth, and will be sent out shortly. I am adding poems to the collection ("I Kidnap My Mother") that was published in September, 2005, and continue to write short one-acts.
Short Bio
After 27 years as a high school English teacher, I now take care of my mother, an Alzheimer patient, and write.
Honors
Two chapbooks published by small presses, two PEN awards for fiction, two plays made Samuel French finals, several cash awards for poems or stories.
