Personal Statement: Rebecca York began the fine art of stained-glass mosaic in late 2003, after six months of chemotherapy that had left her ill, stir crazy, and in need of a creative artistic pursuit to occupy her mind.

Always awed by the beauty of glass, Becky experimented. The result is beautiful and unique stained-glass mosaic pieces. She includes in her work found materials such as deer antler, agates, mirror, and clay. All of Becky's pieces are composed from hand-drawn designs and hand cut.

Current Work
Rebecca York's mosaics will be shown at the Women's Works Art Festival, University of Idaho - Moscow, November 11 and 12, 2005, in the Student Union Ballroom.
Short Bio
At Christmas 2003, Rebecca York gave her art as gifts. She had never done mosaics or glass work before and she has never taken any art classes of any kind. Her family, amazed at this gift she had tuned into, entered her work into a juried show, the Renaissance Fair, in Moscow, Idaho. Her family's goal was to encourage Becky to share this gift. It worked; everyone loved her work and she continues to share it today.

Though frequent fatigue often keeps Becky from her art, she has new ideas and designs popping into her head and she wants to continue to share her creations.
