Personal Statement: With the motto "though she be but little, she is fierce" (Helena, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare), I am a theatre artist currently developing a methodology for women to embody male roles in performance.

My interests are Post-modern Shakespeare, Drag Kings, Gender studies, Queer theory, and Feminist perspectives. I am the Artistic Director of the Shake-scene Players, have an MFA in Staging Shakespeare from the University of Exeter, A BA in Theatre from UCLA and currently working toward a PhD in Performance Practice.

Current Work
Drag King Richard III is an auto-biographical Drama that appropriates Shakespeare's text to tell a new story about a FTM transsexual and a lesbian friendship tested by one friend's transition. The Play premiered in August at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with excellent reviews from critics and audience members.
Short Bio
I have been a professional performer for many years. I grew up in Ohio and graduated From UCLA with a BA in Theatre in 1996.

I wrote and directed several feminst plays in found spaces throughout California. I have worked in residence, workshops, and professionally with such performers and companies as SITI Company, Wooster Group, Anne Bogart, Marcel Marceau, Cleveland Public Theatre, The Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

I also worked under contracts for Disney and Universal Studios and have been featured in numerous television and film productions. I recently wrote scripted scenarios on Homophobic Hate Crime for the Dorset Police training sessions. I am dedicated to devising work that promotes issues of feminism and tolerance for all people.
Honors
MFA with Distinction, Phi Ro Pi State Champion, and numerous artistic awards.
