Personal Statement: McBride-Ahebee's poetry gives voice to women who historically have not been heard; African women, women in refugee camps, women who are victims of civil war, women who are new immigrants and isolated, rural women who face such health challenges as breast cancer and obstetric fistula.

Current Work
McBride-Ahebee is currently seeking support to produce her play, Full Circle. Full Circle is a one-character play, with two musicians, which explores personal and world histories; histories of enslavement, of genocide, of forced migration, of desired migration, of people simply trying to find a spot, in this world, to build a life upon.
