Current Work I am currently adding to my "Living Madonna Series" - part of my ongoing passion for acrylic and watercolor paintings in the Old World style of the Cuzco School of religious portraiture. |
Short Bio My artist trajectory began at the age of three. I began with crayons and watercolors. I am something of an autodidactic artist.
My ongoing love for painting is due to the time I spend (50%) painting Plein-Air. Plein-Air (French for "out of doors" or "in open air") is the centuries old tradition of taking your easel outside and confronting nature directly.
When I am painting "en plein-air", I am dealing with the elements - the wonders of nature, changing light, weather conditions, people's actions, bugs, you name it. It's an invigorating spiritual adventure for me.
When I paint I try to offer/share a glimpse of reality mixed with a refuge to those in search of beauty and imaginary horizons.
