Personal Statement: Ellen Kaz teaches, choreographs and performs dance and dancetheater internationally, most recently directing Kaz DanceHUMAN Theater, the new force for physically integrated dance in New England. Her work has been seen in New York, Washington, Boston, Chicago, and throughout New England as well as in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Ethiopia.

Current Work
Kaz DanceHUMAN Theater is a physically integrated Dance Project based in the Pioneer Valley, Massachusetts. DanceHUMAN makes movement arts that celebrates the human spirit embodied in all its forms through collaborative dance with physically disabled and non-disabled people. We offer inclusive workshops and performances of integrated dance.
Short Bio
Ellen Kaz has taught, choreographed and performed dance for nearly 20 years. Before establishing Kaz DanceHUMAN Theater, Ellen worked with Remix Dance Company in Cape Town for three consecutive years, commissioned to create company works as choreographer, poet, and writer. She was honored in 2006 in an individual mentorship with Adam Benjamin, international leader in integrated dance and founder of London's ground-breaking Cando-Co. This fall, Ellen will accept a "Special Award" for her work with DanceHUMAN, from the New England Theater Conference.
Ellen has also studied with Bebe Miller, Liz Lerman company, and Meredith Monk. Other influences include Butoh and Tai Chi, improvisational theater, and sign language. Locally, Ellen teaches at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts High School in South Hadley, MA, and directs Kaz DanceHUMAN Theater, an integrated Dance Project for physically disabled and non-disabled adults.
