 | Welcome
to the WomenArts Network!
Overview
The WomenArts
Network is designed to make it easy to contact women who have artistic
work or skills to share. Whether you are putting together a production
team, planning a conference, booking a festival, or organizing a single event,
you can find the artists you need by searching through these profiles. Learn
About Doing Searches>>
If you are an artist,
creating a profile on the WomenArts Network will make you part of
an online community that is being publicized to arts organizations, academic
institutions, and others involved in women's or social justice issues.
People who share your interests will be able to learn about your work and
contact you for possible collaborations. Also, as the WomenArts
Network grows, we will show the world how talented and diverse women
artists really are!

Guidelines for Artist and Organizational
Profiles
- Individual
Artists - You must be a woman to be listed
as an individual artist in the WomenArts Network.
A woman is defined as a person born as a woman or a transgender person identifying
and living as a woman. If you work as an individual
artist and you are also the leader of an arts organization which fits the
organizational criteria below, you may create two profiles - one for you
and one for your organization.
- Organizations
- To be listed as an organization in the WomenArts
Network, the organization must be led by a woman or women, and women
must receive at least half of the salaries and fees paid by the organization.
You may list women's programs that fit both of these criteria, even if they
are housed in larger institutions that do not fit. If you are
a woman artist working with one male collaborator and you both share the
leadership and income, you may list your partnership as an organization.
- Type
of Artists - Although the primary focus of
The Fund for Women Artists is on women in theatre, film, and video, we welcome
other women artists to create profiles in the WomenArts Network,
especially artists who are addressing social issues through their work.
- False
Statements - The Fund for Women Artists reserves
the right to de-activate your account if we discover that you have made
false or misleading statements on any of your profile pages.
- Consistent
With Our Mission - Since The Fund for Women
Artists is dedicated to challenging gender and other stereotypes, as well
as promoting artistic excellence, we reserve the right to reject or deactivate
any profile that we find demeaning to women or otherwise inconsistent with
our mission.
