Funding News, Volume #30
Published February 6, 2006
Dear Theatre Artist,
Welcome to Theatre Funding News, Volume #30. This free bi-monthly newsletter is a
service
of The Fund for Women Artists, a
community of artists and allies dedicated to celebrating and supporting
art that tells the truth about women’s lives. For more information
about our goals and services, please see the Share
the Vision section of this web site.
Special Notes
Noted with Sadness -
This past week saw the passing of three female pioneers, civil rights
leader Coretta Scott King, feminist Betty Friedan, and
playwright Wendy Wasserstein. They widened our vision, challenged
us, and gave us hope. We will miss them.
Pictures of Artists Needed -
The Fund for Women Artists is creating a five minute promotional video
about our work and we would like to include some pictures of artists
from the WomenArts Network. We need about 25 high-resolution close-ups
of women artists for the opening montage – preferably pictures
of you in some work setting or costume with your face showing clearly.
Please send digital images with resolutions of at least 300 dots per
inch as email attachments to info@womenarts.org. You
can also send pictures by snail mail to: The Fund for Women Artists,
P.O. Box 60637, Florence, MA 01062. If we use your picture, we
will send you a copy of the video when it is done. Thanks!
Please feel free to disseminate this information to other artists, but
please credit The Fund for Women Artists. If you know of good sources for this kind of information that you want
to recommend, or you have a listing you would like to add, please send
it to Carrie Grabo at grabo@WomenArts.org.
Contents - This newsletter
is organized into three sections:

for Entries: Festivals and other venues seeking scripts for publication,
workshop, production, or for awarding prizes. Occasionally also lists
writer/artist retreats or artist-in-residence programs. Organized
chronologically, with soonest deadline listed first. Ongoing opportunities
appear at the end of this section.
Funding Opportunities:
Foundation deadlines for individual theatre artists AND theatres/arts
organizations working in theatre. Organized chronologically, with soonest
deadline listed first.
Resources: Other resources,
such as helpful organizations and web sites, fundraising tools, and
the like
Highlighted entries -

Digital Millennium Copyright Act.” - Summary report
published by the Intellectual Property Clinic at the University of

removal despite "a clear legal defense" to the claim of copyright infringement.
