In the Life Media – Seeking documentaries about the LGBTQ experience for their 2008-2009 season. Works should be 20-50 minutes long, created by independent producers (projects 20 minutes and shorter encouraged), and must follow PBS underwriting and funding guidelines. International content encouraged, as are stories that give voice to underrepresented communities. Broadcast premieres preferred but will consider a project with “evergreen” content (like historical docs) if it has had limited TV exposure. Redemptive Film Festival (October 16-18, 2008, Virginia Beach, VA) – International forum for filmmakers (professionals or students) to showcase and be rewarded for work on themes depicting redemptive purposes of God, either through human beings or supernatural occurrences; and to participate in process of redeeming and empowering victims of modern day slavery. **Tennessee Women’s Theater Project’s Women’s Work Festival** (May 9-25, 2008, Nashville, TN) - Showcasing the talents of creative women at Nashville’s Z. Alexander Looby Theatre. IFP’s Rough Cut Labs for Narrative Films (June 10-13, 2008, New York, NY) – Supports low-budget, independently produced films in the rough assembly stage that can benefit from the mentorship of experienced film professionals. The 4-day program challenges filmmakers to realize the full potential of their footage and stories prior to industry exposure, providing a dynamic system of feedback and advice on technical, creative, and post-production issues. “Film Your Issue” Competition - Engaging young people (ages 14-24) to create live-action or animated “issue films” on topical social issues. Fragrance and Film Festival – Presented by Vogue Magazine and the Fragrance Foundation in honor of the 36th Annual FIFI Awards, "where the best new fragrances are honored." **Flying: Confessions of a Free Woman – 7th Episode** – In Flying, Jennifer Fox lays bare her own life to penetrate what it means to be a free woman today.
